TAGBILARAN City, Bohol — A public school teacher in Loboc town, Bohol province, will face formal charges on Monday after he was arrested on Friday night for allegedly selling suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu), according to the local police.

Eladio Gonzaga, 38, is temporarily detained at the lock-up jail of the Loboc Police station pending the filing of charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to Inspector Sam Dacullo, Loboc police chief.

Dacullo said Gonzaga was arrested during a buy-bust operation on April 22, around 10:30 p.m. near his house in Barangay Calunasan Norte.

An undercover policeman allegedly bought shabu from  Gonzaga. When he was handing one sachet of shabu to the poseur-buyer, the police arrested him.

When frisked, the police found one small sachet and a black flashlight from Gonzaga.

Dacullo said Gonzaga was under surveillance for a month. He said Gonzaga was a noted drug personality in the community.

A concerned teacher informed the police when Gonzaga and some of his clients were using the school’s toilet for a pot session.

Dacullo said his mode of transaction was through cell phone.

“Transaction was through text. They would then ride the motorcycle to deliver the item,” he said.  SFM
