Lewis, a cornerback at Coastal Carolina University, was hit with the charges after two victims told cops that the ex-NFL star’s son sexually assaulted them in an apartment building near the CCU campus in Conway.

The alleged incident took place in January.

Lewis III was suspended indefinitely from the CCU football team on Friday.

“Once CCU became aware of an incident, the University immediately began facilitating the administrative investigation, which includes requests to Conway Police Department for the police report and other information pertaining to this case,” a spokesperson said in a statement published by WBTW. “The University obtained the arrest warrant today.

“Immediately upon arrest, Ray Lewis III was suspended indefinitely from the football team. The University continues its administrative investigation process.”

Lewis III, through his lawyers, denied the charges.

“He is not guilty because no crime was committed,” his legal team said in an email sent to the Daily News. “The sex with the accuser was entirely consensual.”

According to the arrest warrant, a copy of which was published by Deadspin, Lewis III was charged because he knew that the 18-year-old victim was “mentally incapacitated, and/or physically helpless from the use of drugs and/or alchohol.”

That’s not the way it happened, his lawyers said.

“At the time of the sexual encounter, the two girls involved were fully concious of what they were doing and knowingly consented. We are confident that a thorough evaluation of the facts will show that there was no crime committed.”

He was booked Friday morning at the J Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, S.C., WBTW.com reported. He was released on a $10,000 bond after 90 minutes, according to the station.

Lewis III spent two seasons at the University of Miami – his father’s alma mater – before transferring to Coastal Carolina. He played in 12 games in 2015 as a sophomore for Coastal Carolina and was credited with 14 solo tackles.

Lewis, who led the Ravens to a pair of Super Bowl titles during his 17-year NFL career, was charged in the 2000 stabbing death of two men near an Atlanta nightclub following a Super Bowl party. He was only convicted of obstruction of justice, a misdemeanor.
