A roller coaster at a Scotland theme park derailed and plunged about 20 feet to the ground Sunday, injuring eight children and two adults, according to local reports.

The Tsunami ride at M&D’s theme park, near Motherwell, veered off its track and collapsed with nine people on board at 3:37 p.m., the Daily Record reported. It is unclear how the tenth victim was harmed.

At least one adult and one child were in stable condition, police said. The condition of the other victims was not immediately released.

Witnesses said parkgoers rushed to overturned the fallen coaster car and free the riders trapped inside.

“Everybody was shocked and upset and a lot of them were crying with shock,” witness Caitlin Barnes told BBC.

Another witness, Katie Burns, said she saw the carriage crash right after riding the Tsunami itself.

“Honestly never been so scared in my life,” she wrote in a Facebook post, according to BBC.

“Literally can’t believe this, my heart goes out to everyone on it, a full load came off the track and on the pavement, like a horror film worse thing ever heard and seen, can’t get over this.”

Police evacuated the park and shut it down until further notice. The cause of the crash has not been determined.

This is hardly the first time Tsunami’s summer thrills turned scary.

Police investigated the ride in July 2011 after came to a sudden stop 60 feet in the air, leaving nine people stuck there for eight hours. Police eventually freed the riders one-by-one with safety harnesses, and no one was injured.

In 2013, the ride stopped working 20 feet in the air, and an hour later firefighters used a “cherry picker” machine to remove eight riders.
