LAKE KATRINE >> Olivia Lattin shut out Minisink Valley and the Tigers’ offense cruised to a 10-0 win in the first round of the Section 9, Class AA softball playoffs on Tuesday.

The Kingston offense struck early, getting five in the first to build a big lead. They added three in the third and one each in the fourth and fifth to put the Warriors away.

Lattin struck out 11 while going the distance. Sarah Baganz had two triples and scored two runs in the win, while Megan Peace had a pair of hits and three RBI for Kingston.

Claudia Hommel picked up a double and two runs, Alyjah Cruz had a pair of hits and two runs, and Jill Staley added three hits, including a double, as well as two RBI. Annie Cooney scored a run and Jillian McManus added a double for Kingston.

Tori Duffy was tagged with the loss for Minisink Valley.

Kingston, the number one seed in the Class AA bracket, will host the winner of Tuesday night’s match between No. 4 seeded Valley Central and No. 5 seeded Warwick. That match will take place Burke Field on Thursday.
