NEW PALTZ >> Tuesday’s vote on a $52.9 million plan to renovate New Paltz school district buildings has been postponed due to the weather.
The Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Lenape Elementary School to reschedule the vote.
The plan was defeated, 1,380-1,230, on Oct. 28 but was left unchanged for the new vote.
The proposal includes work totaling $2.48 million at Duzine Elementary School, $1.64 million at Lenape Elementary School, $25.38 million at the middle school and $13.4 million at the high school.
District officials have said the proposition represents the lowest cost among several options considered by the school board.
Rejected options included spending $82 million to build a new middle school near the high school; $87.55 million to consolidate the two elementary schools; and $107.39 million to consolidate the two elementary schools and consolidate the middle and senior high schools on two campuses.
