Kingston bans on-street parking, delays trash pickups

KINGSTON >> The city has declared a “snow emergency,” which bans on-street parking, for a 48-hour period starting at 4 p.m. today and has canceled Tuesday’s trash pickups.

Vehicles parked on city streets in violation of the ban will be subject to ticketing and towing.

Parking will be allowed in the city’s municipal lots and on one side of some designated streets, as marked.

All trash and recycling pickups scheduled for Tuesday have been postponed due to the weather.

Also, Kingston Citibus system will operate under its Winter Weather schedule starting at 4:30 p.m. today.
