Jennifer Ratner has been honored as the Employee of the Year of Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County.

Each year staffs nominate an employee for outstanding attributes, actions and/or achievements in the previous year.

Ratner started with Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County in November 2013 as the registered nurse for the Hillcrest Residence, located in Ellenville, N.Y.

She is a graduate of Sullivan County Community College, with an associate degree in applied science in nursing in May of 2012 and plans to pursue her bachelor of science in nursing.

Adam T. Mandell, of Saugerties, N.Y., has been named a partner of the law firm of Maynard, O’Connor, Smith & Catalinotto, LLP.

Mandell joined the firm as an associated attorney in 2008, primarily practicing out of the firm’s Saugerties office, with a concentration in personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, commercial matters and complex litigation. He also devotes a portion of his practice to appellate advocacy.

He graduated from Hobart College in 2001 and attended Western New England College School of Law, where he earned his law degree, cum laude, in 2006.

He is a delegate to the New York State Bar Association House of Delegates, a board member of the Ulster County Bar Association, and serves on the Committee for Character and Fitness for the Third Judicial District.

The firm, with offices located in Albany, Saugerties and Johnstown, N.Y., was founded in 1919, and concentrates its practice in the areas of civil litigation, family and matrimonial law, real estate, as well as corporate and commercial transactions and organizations.

Francis X. Gillespie has been promoted to detective in the Criminal Division of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.

Gillespie joined the agency as deputy sheriff in July 2008, having graduated from Basic Police Academy in 2007.
