Last August, a former British rapper who went by the stage name L Jinny (real name Abdel-Majed Abdel Bary) was suspected of being “Jihadi John,” a terrorist who participated in the James Foley beheading.
Now, conflicting reports have come out, with people claiming to have definitively identified Jihadi John. According to this new information, the jihadist in question is not a former U.K. rapper, but rather a college graduate from a well-off family.

“I have no doubt that Mohammed [Emwazi] is Jihadi John,” a friend of Emwazi told The Washington Post. “He was like a brother to me… I am sure it is him.”
The Post reports that other friends and people familiar with the case also believe Emwazi, a West Londerer with a computer programming degree, is Jihadi John.
