Project Summary:
This GoFundMe project, is to help finance an -independent- Fan Funded film project, with distribution still under negotiation but a projected release date of July 2016.
Funds raised will go towards financing needed equipment rentals, international filming, production, and other costs associated with the project.
This is an officially license Cris Cyborg Documentery and will be the first time a film team has had such unprecidented access to the Star.
Blessed: Cyborg is an intimate feature documentary film about Female Mixed Martial Arts Champion, Cristiane Justino Cyborg. The film will tell the story of how Cris Cyborg got involved in a male dominated sport, and the difficulties she has faced moving from Brazil to America in pursuit of her dreams. The film will present an in depth look into the fighter, her life, past, present, and future as we follow her preparation for one of the biggest fights of her career, as she attempts to drop to a new weight class for the opportunity to return home and fight at the t the 45,000 seat Arena Da Baixada soccer stadium in Curitiba Brazil.
Video editing will be done by Isaac Kesington, known as Genghis Con inside the MMA community, he has pioneer MMA themed documentary producing cult classics like Miami Hustle, Fists of Fortune, Tales from the Grind, The BJJ Kumite, and the Phuket Dreaming series. Distribution is currently under negotiation, however content has a planed July release date.
About Cris Cyborg:
Cristane Justino Venancio, known to fans of Mixed Martial Arts as Cris Cyborg is a 2x Female World MMA Champion with championship belts for both the Strikeforce and Invicta FC promotions. Undefeated the past decade, and with an 87% KO victory ratio, many fans consider her to be the “Baddest Woman on the Planet”.
A devoted Christian, Cris Cyborg is active in her community and is involved with community outreach projects including her Women’s Empowerment PinkBelt Fitness programs. About UFC 198:
Cris Cyborg will be fighting at UFC 198 taking place May 14th, 2016 against 4x UFC Vet. Leslie Smith at the 40,000 seat Arena Da Baixada stadium.
The main event will feature Fabricio Werdum Vs Stipe Miocic and will be only the 4th stadium venue hosted by the UFC. Other Brazilian Icon’s scheduled to appear on the card include; Jacare, Vitor Belfort, Anderson Silva, Shogun Rua, Demian Maia, and Minotouro Noguiera.
DONATIONS:
Currently this project is in the filming stage, and funding of the film is needed to complete a true all access story of Cyborg fighting in the UFC as she attempts to make 140lbs.
Working directly with Cris Cyborg to ensure the camera crew will have access to her, fans will be given an opportunity to see the real person behind the "BADDEST WOMAN ON THE PLANET." Cris Cyborg.
This project is unique in that it is allowing the fans to get involved and show their support for Cyborg as she chases her UFC dreams after a decade of being undefeated in MMA!
All money raised will go directly to the costs associated with filming and producing this projecct. Any remaining funds will be used on the next Team Cyborg film project.
