This petition for fairness has not just grown, it has snowballed! With 200 signatures the first day, it has already reached over 600 signatures by day 3. But now it's time to kick it into high gear. I've attached a message template to mail to U.S. Congressmen and Senators, and other organizations, along with their contact information (or where to find it). This is to ensure that this petition gets as much attention as possible, and reaches high levels as well. If you don't want to go through the whole list, please do at least the first three, but any number helps: Find Contact Information for Congress members - http://www.congressmerge.com/onlinedb/ Contact StandWithUs - Email: info@standwithus.com Contact Step Up for Israel - Email: info@stepupforisrael.com Contact NGO Monitor - Email: mail@ngo-monitor.org Contact UN Watch - Fill out "Contact Us" page at http://www.unwatch.org/ Contact Honest Reporting - Fill out "Contact Us" page at http://honestreporting.com/contact-us/ Contact The Israel Project - Email: info@TheIsraelProject.org Template to send to each group and person is found below (please make sure to fill in blanks at the top and very bottom): "Hello, My name is _______, and I would like to express a deep concern I have regarding the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). This agency, meant to be a neutral human development agency according to its own mandate, is currently employing a spokesperson who has time and again proven an inability to remain neutral. This spokesperson, Chris Gunness, has both unfairly criticized Israel and attempted to intimidate groups highlighting anti-Semitism in UNRWA. When informed of anti-Semitic posts on an UNRWA school's Facebook page, Mr. Gunness decided that the best route forward was to both lie about the page, and ask for information he could use to spear the group who reported the anti-Semitism (UN Watch), as well as another watchdog (NGO Monitor). I write this message to you because you have significant clout to address this unfair treatment of Israel. I urge you to take strong action in publicly expressing your disapproval of Mr. Gunness' comments, and ask that you support an investigation into Mr. Gunness for violating UNRWA's mandate. I also ask that you endorse and spread awareness of the petition at the link placed at the bottom of this message, and urge others to build on the grassroots support for investigating Mr. Gunness for violating UNRWA's mandate. Nowhere is it more crucial than at the United Nations, where neutrality and impartiality should be the modus operandi, that UNRWA not be politicized into a biased organization. This would not only harm the credibility of the United Nations on the whole, but also harm the credibility of UNRWA, thereby harming the refugees it is supposed to protect and aid. Please act strongly to prevent any further politicization of this human development organization, and please endorse the petition and an investigation of Mr. Gunness.
