Global Drug Survey: how has drug use changed over the years? Share your stories

This article is more than 9 years old

As we collect responses for 2015’s Global Drug Survey, we’d like to feature your stories and experiences alongside the data

For the last few years, the Guardian has been a partner on the Global Drug Survey, which aims to find out more about the behaviour of drug users today.

The worldwide questionnaire has media partners in 20 countries and had nearly 80,000 respondents for 2014’s survey. The results showed more people are buying drugs online and almost a third of UK survey respondents aged between 18 and 24 had taken mystery white powders.

For 2015, we’d like to feature stories alongside the data, from the people around the world who’ve been in drug rehabilitation to those who casually used marijuana in the past.

The questions we’d like to answer are the following:

  • How has drug use changed over the years?
  • How does your government deal with drug use?
  • What is it like working with drug users and how does the law in your country affect your work?

We will feature the most interesting responses alongside our coverage of the survey’s findings. You can share your experiences by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the GuardianWitness smartphone app or the new Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’ – and if you add it to the homepage – you can keep up with all our assignments.

Note: if you’d like to remain anonymous, please add a line to to let us know, with your contribution and we can post on your behalf. We can only accept submissions from people 16 and above.
