Written for Simon Pegg’s new film Man Up, here’s a new track from the maudlin Mancunians

Man Up, the new “easy, breezy romantic comedy” starring Simon Pegg and Lake Bell, comes backed by a soundtrack including Jungle, the National, Paloma Faith, Duran Duran, the B-52’s and world-renowned cocksmen, Whitesnake.

LOut on 25 May, via Fiction Records, the soundtrack also features What Time Do You Call This?, a new song by bastions of late-night misery and yearning, Elbow, composed especially for the film. “The band saw an early cut in Manchester and, thankfully, loved it,” said director Ben Palmer. “A couple of days later, Guy had already penned the lyrics and we were blown away. It was the perfect fit and a dream climax to the journey.”

Listen to this delicately forlorn new Elbow song below, their first since the release of their No 1 album The Take Off and Landing of Everything.
