It's been an eventful day (and night), with 81 seats declared across Northern Ireland. In a few hours, counting will start again with another 27 to be decided.

BBC News NI Live will have all the latest from 09:00 but in the meantime we're all off for a serious lie down. Thanks for your company!

  3. East Belfast

    The Late Late Show

The candidates, party workers and journalists at the East Belfast must be tired... but spare a thought for the poor folks actually counting the ballots. Would you fancy having to work out the equations at this point? Thought not. Nah, neither would we.

  4. East Belfast

    Had two, have two

The Alliance Party has held its two seats in East Belfast. Naomi Long is back to Stormont after her spell at Westminster. Chris Lyttle returns for another term at the assembly.

    The story so far

    Roy Beggs

Stewart Dickson (Alliance) and Alistair Ross (DUP) are expected to claim the fourth and fifth seats but then it is very tight between Oliver McMullan (Sinn Féin), Noel Jordan (UKIP) and John Stewart (UUP).
