Bobby Jindal appeared on "Meet the Press" and said the state would comply with the Supreme Court's decision, despite his opposition to same-sex marriage."According to Chief Justice Roberts, they weren't even reading, this has nothing to do with the Constitution. But of course we're going to comply with the court order. We don't have a choice. Our agencies will comply with the court order," Jindal said.Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court Jon Gegenheimer's decision to issue same-sex marriage licenses makes the parish the first in Louisiana to issue licenses. According to the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court's office, the decision came Monday morning after officials reviewed the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage.
