Dana White gushes over Joanna Jedrzejczyk, details her 'f**king crazy' first meeting with Ronda Rousey

UFC's president was in New York City earlier this week to unveil Reebok's "Fight Kit," after which he shared his admiration for women's strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, revealing his plan to bring the Polish powerhouse stateside.

NEW YORK -- Undefeated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's Strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, absolutely obliterated Jessica Penne at UFC Fight Night 69 in Berlin, Germany, last month.

In fact, she was so impressive that her contemporaries showered her with praise, including women's Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey.

It was bad ass!

"Ronda called Joanna a "fighter's fighter" and all the fighters are a fan of hers," said UFC President Dana White at a brief media scrum following the UFC/Reebok press event on Tuesday (watch video replay here). "Like, I'm not kidding you, yesterday when we did the rehearsals and she walked in, everybody was like 'there she is.' It's so fucking cool to see that.

"Ronda and Joanna came together yesterday, met for the first time," he continued. "They've never met. So they met for the first time here yesterday and they were hugging each other, 'I couldn't wait to meet you. I couldn't wait to meet you.' It's fucking crazy. It's so cool. When Joanna walked into the room yesterday, all the fighters were pointing at her like 'there she is.'"

Jedrzejczyk is now undefeated (10-0) in mixed martial arts (MMA) and perfect (4-0) inside the Octagon. The promotion's reigning 115-pound female champion just had successful surgery to repair her right thumb after breaking it in the third-round technical knockout victory over Penne, and she expects to be return to the action by the end of 2015.

White said he'd like to have the champion headline a big card in the United States.

"I want to bring Joanna here to the United States to fight," he said. "I want to do that. I want to make her a headliner somewhere big here."

MMAMania asked whether UFC's plans for Jedrzejczyk would be for a pay-per-view or a FOX/FOX Sports card.

"I don't know yet," said White. "I just want to bring her here and make her part of a big fight. People love her, man. Ronda titled her the 'fighter's fighter.' She's a fighter that all the other fighters like to watch and are fans of. I thought that was pretty cool. That's a cool title."

Rousey is set to face Bethe Correia at UFC 190 on Aug. 1, 2015. Jedrzejczyk, who just defended her belt for the first time, appears that she could become as dominant in her division as Rousey is at 135 pounds. It has only been three years since UFC signed Rousey and launched the first women's division in the promotion's history and less than one year since the start of the strawweight division.

With Rousey already a huge star and household name -- and Jedrzejczyk gaining similar popularity with a quickness -- White was all smiles when asked about the status and outlook of women's MMA in UFC.

"It's looking pretty damn good for women in the sport," he said. "Ronda is a massive superstar. Her sponsorships alone ... the money she makes on sponsorships here now, she's making millions of dollars. And never wears one of them into the Octagon and never has. It's nothing but positive."
