Pitch Perfect 2 star Brittany Snow has an inspiring message for anyone who has been a victim of bullying, on the Internet or anywhere else: You are not alone.
As part of her ongoing anti-bullying work, Brittany is teaming up with a host of other celebrities including Jordin Sparks and Pete Wentz to send positive messages of support for Tumblr's #PostItForward campaign. According to a statement, PostItForward is an effort to end the stigmatization of mental and emotional health issues and promote "positivity and support in online communities."
Brittany, who has spoken out about being a victim of cyberbullying in the past, founded Love Is Louder with the Jed Foundation in 2010. She shared a video on the Love Is Louder Tumblr on Wednesday, telling fans and followers that just like most people on the Internet, negative comments have affected and hurt her.
"What I've learned is that it's really important to find the right support network and to focus on the positive things in your life and quiet that negative voice in your head," she said. "The advice I give to people who feel different or are struggling is to simply tell yourself in your head 'maybe that's not true."
Brittany also spoke about the benefits of reaching out. "The more people you reach out to ... you [find] there's a lot of people who have been through something similar."
