Since Alexander Wang's departure from Balenciaga all eyes have been on the designer. Would he be in the running for the job at Dior? Or perhaps Lanvin? Or if rumours are to be believed there will shortly be an opening at Saint Laurent that Wang could be perfect for.

This season Wang chose to show at St Bartholomew's church; New York's temple to the Park Avenue princess. But his woman this season couldn't be more different. Models stomped down the runway, punk music ringing round the church. Tweed mini dresses hemmed in hardware were perfectly frayed, while the girls were dripping in silver chain jewellery.

Mohair jumpers with eyelets were laced together with leather panels to create a Dennis the Menace effect. Metal details on the hems of the dresses created a surprisingly fluid movement as the girls moved; a juxtaposition between the hard and soft.

Wang's girl was definitely no angel. Lace t-shirts were emblazoned with slogans, just wide and long enough to cover her modesty. Fluffy mohair beanies and 'I don't care' hair teamed with silver toe capped boots finished the look.

The collection divided the crowd. The front row, made up of Kardashians and teen pop stars, loved it, and rightly so. Anyone over the age of twenty wondered quite how they were going to wear it.

It was rocky - the right side of rocky, to put Wang in contention for the job at Saint Laurent. And fashion recruitment aside, Autumn/winter 2016 will have the cool girls from the red carpet worshiping at the church of Wang.
