Fame, celebrity, industry recognition ... you could have all that and more, if only you knew as much about Microsoft products as the people on Harmon.ie's Top Office 365 Influencer lists.

Harmon.ie, a company that creates software solutions to improve collaboration in the digital workplace, partnered with Scratch Marketing + Media to identify the movers and shakers in the digital workplace who have provide the most guidance to Office 365 and SharePoint users in the past year.

Six months after releasing the US influencer’s list, Harmon.ie is today releasing the European Influencer list.

The Top 10

Eighty percent of Global 500 companies rely on SharePoint and Office 365, and Office 365 is rapidly becoming the backbone of enterprise collaboration in the digital workplace.

“SharePoint has been a dominant force in Europe for many years, but as the move to the cloud has rippled across the continent, the community is shifting towards the Office 365 ecosystem,” Patrick Hosch, a technical evangelist at Nintex, top Office 365 influencer and previous SharePoint influencer award winner said in a statement.

Breaking the Top 25 down by role, of this year’s winners:

Learning Opportunities

  • 52 percent are SharePoint MVPs, specialists, consultants or leads
  • 20 percent are Office 365 MVPs
  • 28 percent are CEOs, CTOs, solution professionals, technical evangelists and directors

What is notable here is that 92 percent of this year’s Office 365 influencers are previous SharePoint influencers, indicating the same people that are directing SharePoint use in the enterprise are driving the push towards Office 365.

So who reigns supreme? The top 10 are:

  1. Oliver Wirkus, senior SharePoint consultant/MCT  @owirkus
  2. Patrick Hosch, technical evangelist at Nintex @patrickhosch
  3. Jethro Seghers, program manager at MigrationWiz @jseghers
  4. Wictor Wilén, group manager at Avanade @wictor
  5. Hans-Joachim Hanf, business manager and senior consultant at bei BridgingIT@hajohanf

  10. Hans Brender, technical solution professional (EU) at bei BitTitan @hansbrender

The top 25 come from 12 countries. In previous years,  the UK was the dominant force, but this year Germany takes the top spot (5), followed closely by the UK (4).

The remaining influencers come from the Netherlands (3), Belgium (2), Spain (2), Sweden (2), Switzerland (2) and one each from Austria, Hungary, Italy, Norway and Slovenia.
