Friendship flight gearing up for fall

The invitation is just about open to people up for a trip to Belleville’s twin city in Germany.
Coun. Jackie Denyes said packages for the traditional visit to Lahr, Germany are now being prepared for folks interested in the trip which includes a river boat cruise to Normandy beaches, along with a stop in Paris.
Denyes said details, including price, are being sorted as they gear up to put the packages on sale for the September 2015 trip.
Denyes said an information meeting will be held in February to provide more details.
Back in 2011, 59 local residents (at $3,000 a piece) took the Friendship Flight to Lahr, Germany, for a two-week trip which included stops in Italy. Denyes is working on 2015 pricing.
For four decades, Belleville has been twinned with the European city and, in the past, rotating trips were scheduled where delegates and citizens from each city would visit their counterparts.
