Sneak peek inside Icon Residences at The Rotunda

Hartman Design Group released renderings of what some of the interior of the Icon Residences at The Rotunda could possibly look like.

The company has been selected by the project’s owner, Hekemian & Co., to design public spaces and amenities, such as the vestibule lobby, bar and club room that are part of the 379 luxury apartments constructed in the $100 million mixed-use redevelopment of the historic former insurance office building turned indoor mall.

“The design concept for the Icon Residences is focused on the current culture of the area and anticipated resident demographic, which includes students from the nearby Johns Hopkins University, commuting professionals, empty-nesters, or anyone drawn to the luxury ‘live, work, play’ community lifestyle at a more affordable cost than what is currently trending at other Inner Harbor properties,” according to Hartman Design Group.

Hekemian & Co.’s efforts to redevelop the failing mall and office building into a mixed-use outdoor shopping center date back several years, and were initially delayed by the 2008 financial crisis. Construction on the project is expected to be complete this fall.

Last year, Hekemian & Co. announced that a new 35,000-square-foot CinéBistro, a theater with a dinner and a movie concept, would be a tenant at The Rotunda. In February, a draft of possible retail tenants at The Rotunda were leaked by a local blog.
