Isle of Wight sex offences case prompts seven more arrests

  • Published

Seven men have been arrested by police on suspicion of conspiring to commit serious sexual offences on the Isle of Wight.

It brings to 13 the number of suspects, some of whom are serving police officers, detained in the inquiry.

The latest arrests were made on the island after new information from a victim, Hampshire Police said.

Investigations are in connection with incidents that took place last year.

The forces said none of the seven arrested were serving police officers or police staff.

In December, three police officers were among six men arrested in connection with the same allegations.

The officers remain suspended from duty.

All 13 men are on police bail until May pending further enquiries.
