Women's World Blends Haute Couture With Science To Put A New Spin On "Fashion With A Purpose!"
Macon Georgia (PRWEB) June 26, 2015 -- Founded by certified bio-technician Derrick Smith, Women's World allows customers to shop guilt-free while supporting major research such as advancements in tissue regeneration, bio-fuel production, stem-cell research and breast cancer treatment. The company has taken on the mission of battling some of this generation’s most pressing issues with the launch of a crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo to raise $30,000,000 to support various research causes.
“Although we encourage all to shop and further the cause, you can be extraordinary and simply donate knowing that 100% of all donations go towards our mission. Everyone who signs up to the Women’s World website and becomes a member should feel good knowing that every single one of their purchases is going to some worthy causes,” says Smith.
Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, Derrick Smith is a dedicated scientist working in the fields of biotechnology and agricultural plant sciences. Currently working on his Masters in Biotechnology, Smith has already completed research for publication on Identifying Relationships Between Soil Characteristics and Genotypes of Natural Setaria viridis Populations from The Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (Baxter Laboratory) in St. Louis, Missouri in May 2013.
In 2014, Smith founded the Women’s World website, with the aim of using the profits from purchases to fund research in his fields, in addition to supporting the chosen causes of researching tissue regeneration, bio-fuel production, stem cell research and breast cancer.
But who has ever heard of a scientists selling haute couture? Smith admits he is no fashion designer or merchandiser. He only manages the profits of Women’s World, and transfers the proceeds of those profits to fund his research. All of the proceeds will go towards funding research in his fields of practice, biotechnology and plant science.
Smith adds: “By supporting this campaign, you are helping to create jobs and ultimately funding research that is necessary to improve the quality of lives of individuals in need of an adjuvant for breast cancer tumor cells or individuals in need of new hearts, lungs, kidneys etc. produced from their own somatic cells. You are also supporting research into the use of certain plant species to produce clean burning biofuels. That is why our saying is "Change Your Closet Change The World."
The $30,000,000 campaign goal will go towards the purchase of land, construct facilities, labortory equipment and materials, labor, social media management, blogging, press releases, videos and fashion events. Achieving this goal allow the company to truly accomplish the Women’s World mission of “Fashion With A Purpose”.
