Only a few months ago this 1962 Vintage Beeline Camper was someone's Craigslist trash. But Chris Sawey (who, before acquiring the camper lived out of his car, which he dubbed Hotel Prius) saw potential in the dated model. So he set out to restore it with space-saving features to make the 80-square-foot space feel like home — and now it's a popular spot for tourists to spend the night when visiting Austin, Texas.

Sawey affectionately named it Motel Camper and added amenities you probably wouldn't expect, like a twin bed that folds out to a full, a fully functioning kitchen, a secret basement for storage, and a shower (sure, it's out back, but it's hot in Texas!). But the renovation wasn't easy — or cheap: Sawey ended up putting $8,000 into the camper to rip out wasp-infested floors, remove old lumber and nails, and add the custom features that make it the one-of-a-kind place people would seek out.

The results are obviously mesmerizing: Outside a retro white and red paint job with block letter lights gives it serious curb appeal, while the reclaimed pallet board walls inside add a rustic and homey charm. And Sawey took measures to make sure the camper is eco-friendly, too — he uses water that's sourced from a rain water collection and stocks the inside with biodegradable toilet paper, soap, and even toothpaste.
