The unthinkable kinda happened yesterday: Kate Middleton stepped out to an official event in a zip-up hoodie. She's been more dressed-up for grocery store runs and park walks with Prince George, so it's surprising that she went so casual this time.
The event was a Beaver Scout meeting at a school and mostly saw the Duchess laughing and having craft time with kids. And while the hoodie's laid-back, the bottom half looks like her NYC outfits—probably Stuart Weitzman boots and J Brand jeans.
My guess as to why she made the choice? Let's look at the facts: The sweatshirt is a Scout one, so it's nothing she already had in her closet at home. And there just seems to be one set of outside images of her leaving (or possibly arriving at) the event. Since the activities she was doing with the kids appeared to involve food and icing cupcakes while blindfolded, I hypothesize that a kiddo made a little bit of a mistake, somehow got something on her top, and the only thing on hand was the hoodie, which was a better choice than being photographed in a dirty blouse.
