After Cycling from Keswick to Bradford for last year's challenge this year, I with a some of my colleagues, are cycling Morecambe to Bridlington. The total cycle is around 170miles. I am cycling to raise money for CAP again.


The background to CAP:

CAP work to bring about about sustained poverty relief through debt counselling, financial education, and a back to work programme.

Poverty is a reality in the UK and unmanageable debt is a major factor.
Before our clients came to CAP for help:

70% missed meals, 26% regularly
76% of those in relationships said debt affected it, 23% said it caused the relationship to break down entirely
42% were prescribed medication due to stress from debt
36% considered suicide as a way out

CAP have:

- Over 250 Debt Centres across the UK.
- Money management courses being run by over 800 churches.
- Job Clubs for the unemployed.
- Release Groups for people with addictions

The result:

- Approx 12,000 families helped each year
- 177 familes become debt free every month
- 96% of clients stayed debt free after CAP's help 94% of clients said CAP's service was life transforming or a great help

The vision:

3,000 CAP projects running in local churches by 2021, including 500 Debt Centres so that everyone can access our service

However, we can't do this alone we need your help as this work couldn't be possible without regular donation and fundraising. We dont get
