This weekend, we reached 25K followers on our @OttawaHealth Twitter account!

Thank you to all of YOU for your contributions to the many health-related discussions. Whether it was through retweets, replies, comments or questions, it is connecting with you that has helped us to provide useful and reliable information through the channels that work best for you.

Suggestions, critiques, kudos, real-life examples – we appreciate and invite all types of feedback.

To celebrate this milestone, we decided to launch a weekly feature on our blog to answer some of the most common health-related questions that we receive on Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook.

To kick off Connect With Us, we take a look at How do I report a restaurant or food premise violation to Ottawa Public Health Inspectors?

Questions about restaurant inspections are very common. It can be upsetting to witness a health violation or to suspect that you’ve become ill after dining out.

Just last week, Sarah sent us this tweet:

If you have had a similar experience, we can help! The way to report food premise violations to Ottawa Public Health is by calling 613-580-6744 (TTY: 613-580-9656) to speak with a Public Health Inspector, or by filling out and submitting a report form online. Our phone line is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. If you cannot reach an inspector during business hours, please leave a message and an on-call inspector will follow-up on a priority basis.

Do you have a public health question? Tweet at us. We want you to Connect With Us to give you the public health information you need!
