A gang shouted vile racist death threats at a Jewish family and threw eggs at their car in a sickening late night attack, it has been reported.

Shomrim, a charity that patrols Jewish communities in London, said the men shouted "F***ing Jews" and "Kill the Jews" at the man, his partner and their baby, according to Everyday Antisemitism.

The passengers also threw eggs at their vehicle in the terrifying incident, which reportedly took place at 1.30am today in London’s Blackwall Tunnel.

Officers from Tower Hamlets Police stopped a vehicle and made four arrests shortly after the incident. Investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police said: "Detectives in Tower Hamlets are investigating an allegation of anti-Semitic abuse reported on Friday, 8 April.

"The incident is said to have taken place at 01:30hrs as a 28-year-old man travelled through the Blackwall Tunnel.

"The man became aware of another car driving alongside with four occupants shouting anti-Semitic abuse at him.

"Some of the passengers of the vehicle then threw eggs at the victim's car. Four men, aged 20, 22, 22 and 20 years, have since been arrested in connection with the incident.

"They remain in custody at an east London police station. Anyone with information is asked to call Tower Hamlets CID on 020 8217 3701, or to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Shomrim patrol the areas of Golders Green, Childs Hill, Hendon, Finchley and Temple Fortune. The organisation is assisting the victims.

It was set up in 2009 "because the community feels unsafe due to a spike in street attacks and robberies over the last couple of years".
