Richard Silverstein Trivializes Burning Of Torah Scrolls

Last week, palestinian arsonists set fire to holy Jewish holy books – including Torah scrolls – in a tent serving as a synagogue, next to Karmei Tzur. The synagogue had been established to commemorate the memories of Naftali Frenkel, Gilad Sha’ar and Eyal Yifrah, who were kidnapped and murdered by palestinian terrorists almost two years ago.

A shocking act reminiscent of what we saw during the Holocaust, it even drew the condemnation of the chairman of the council of Muslim religious leaders in Israel.

Enter evil buffoon, DouchebloggerTM Richard Silverstein, who reacted to it as follows:

In other words, because the synagogue was a tent, located somewhere not to El Doucherino’s liking, the act of desecrating this Jewish place of worship and burning religious texts was not worthy of condemnation.

Given Silverstein claims to have a Bachelor’s of Hebrew Letters in Talmud from the Jewish Theological Seminary, you’d think he might hold Jewish religious texts at least in high esteem (You’d also think his knowledge of Judaism would be better than pathetic).

Alas, he does not even hold Judaism and Jews in high esteem, as this statement from a recent, libelous post accusing Israel’s Ex-Ambassador to the UK of pederasty, indicates:

Though I’m not privy to information about his personal life, it appears this is an example of the repression of such sexual impulses which is almost guaranteed by an Orthodox upbringing, as homosexuality is a grave sin among traditional Jews.

Contrast this to the reverence with which he writes about Islam and Muslims (even those engaged in terrorism).

I guess that helped get him appearances on Iran’s Press TV more than his so-called Bachelor’s of Hebrew Letters in Talmud.

  1. And then he gets upset when people at his temple give him the evil eye
(i’m seriously paraphrasing something he wrote – all from memory, so I could be off)

  2. “Though I’m not privy to information about his personal life…”

So, he’ll go ahead and make assumptions anyways, despite lack of evidence.

In any event, I looked up the ex-ambassador’s background and it doesn’t appear to be Orthodox.

” He attended secondary school at the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in Elstree, Hertfordshire, and thereafter studied at University College, Oxford, University College, London and Harvard University.”

So, not only does he smear all Orthodox Jews with a baseless accusation it doesn’t even apply to the person he is talking about!
