Stephen Colbert is set to take over as the new host of CBS' The Late Show on Sept. 8, with some help from Toby Keith. Keith will appear on the show on Sept. 10, as the evening's musical guest.

During that week, Colbert's other musical guests will come from outside of the country world and include rapper Kendrick Lamar and Troubled Waters (a Paul Simon tribute band). Aside from musical guests, the funnyman will also welcome the likes of Travis Kalanick, who is the chief executive of Uber, comedian Amy Schumer and actress Scarlett Johansson.

For his debut show, Colbert is treating viewers to the dreamy George Clooney and presidential hopeful Jeb Bush. That night, he will also have Jon Batiste, his bandleader, and his group Stay Human perform as the musical talent.

What is left a mystery is the fact that Colbert will also have "special guests." With his reputation as the host of The Colbert Report, chances are good that the special guests will not disappoint and the show will be memorable for a number of reasons. The Colbert Report aired on Comedy Central for 10 seasons, first debuting on TV in 2004.

Lately, Keith has been has been busy putting the finishing touches on his new album, 35 MPH Town, which is set to come out on Oct. 9. The first single off of the album, "Drunk Americans," debuted to major success and became the most-added single when it hit the radio. The title track off the album, "35 MPH Town," is the second single and takes a look at what is happening in the country world by offering a candid reflection on the genre.
