The heaven's may have opened in The Netherlands on Tuesday but that didn't stop Queen Maxima from pulling out all the stops in the glamour stakes as she arrived on Prinsjesdag (Prince's Day).
The 44-year-old looked sophisticated and chic in a floor-length cream dress embellished with intricate flowers and birds as she arrived on the red carpet.
The embroidered silk organza gown was inspired by the Japanese room at the Huis ten Bosch palace, reports broadcaster Nos.

The carriage, which is made from teak wood and covered with gold leaf, is used by the royals to travel from the King's offices at Noordeinde Palace to Parliament.
Originally the property of Dutch Queen Wilhelmina, it will undergo 'maintenance over the next three or four years,' the Dutch government said in a statement.

After arriving at Parliament's Knights' Hall, which was built in the 13th century, King Willem-Alexander delivered a speech written by Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, outlining the government's plans for the year.
