I received a Nextbook 10 Windows Tablet to facilitate this review. Thoughts are my own.

I love being able to try out different tech gadgets.I don’t know but I just love being able to see how a particular gadget — whether it’s a laptop, tablet, smartphone, e-reader, etc — fits in our life. So when I was given the chance to review a Nextbook 10 Windows Tablet, I immediately said yes!

For under $250, the Nextbook 10 allows the entire family to stay connected, entertained, and productive with everything they want at their fingertips.

Browse the Internet, reply to emails, read books, play games from the Windows Store, watch movies, video chat, and much more on the sleek 10.1” tablet with detachable keyboard.

The Nextbook 10 has a 10.1 inch, 1280 x 800 IPS capacitive touch screen, and runs on the Windows 8.1 operating system. It includes a free year of Office 365 Personal with 1TB OneDrive online cloud storage and a free upgrade to Windows 10 later this year.

You can expect good responses to clicks and touches because of its Quad-Core Intel® Atom Z3735G Processor (X86, 1.8GHz) and 1GB DDR3L system memory. Things is, you’ll only have 32GB of onboard storage memory so if you need more storage, I’d suggest you get an external hard drive for your files. Good thing I already have one because I definitely can’t go anywhere below 250GB!

The Nextbook 10 has the usual connectivity features — Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. And if you’d like the ability to do video calls, you can do that with the 2.0 megapixel front and rear cameras with integrated microphone. I’d say it’s not the best resolution for cameras, but hey, for a $219 2-in-1 tablet that also functions as a laptop, that’s actually not bad.

Unlike other tablets around the same price range, the Nextbook 10 has microHDMI, microUSB, and microSD ports. So yeah, it really it a tablet and a laptop in one! It also comes preloaded VUDU Movies and TV app; NOOK for Windows 8 app.

All in all, I can say that I’ve been really satisfied with the performance of this 2-in-1 tablet. It offers me the functionality of a laptop and the portability of a tablet. Obviously, I can’t compare it to similar gadgets that are more high-end, but at its current price, it does a lot.

The available ports, quad-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. Too many tablets right now only have a single port limiting input and output options, dual-core processors and half the RAM.
