You will probably think I’m nuts for saying this, but even as their trainer, I couldn’t care less about the weight loss this week. These contestants had to face something so much scarier than the scale and that’s what they needed my support on. They had to face themselves. That person in the mirror that they spent so long hating has begun to shift from the inside out and is finally ready to discover their voice of courage.

For 10 grueling weeks I have worked with their headspace as much as I was training their bodies and for the first time they are seeing in themselves what I have been fighting for in them all along.

So many people I meet have a “why even try” attitude. I can’t tell you how many of these contestants shared with me how, for so long, their mindset was, ‘What’s the point of trying? I’ll probably fail anyway.’ Sound familiar? THIS is why I love makeover week for them and for you. It is PROOF that it can be done. Proof that commitment and consistency are all you need to make room for any change you wish to see in your life.

When you watch this episode, don’t just pay attention to their weight loss in the before and afters, but in their demeanor. The way they walk, talk, make eye contact and express themselves. You have the same opportunity to create this light in your eyes. The same opportunity to show up in your life every day and invest in the true you. The same opportunity to stop hiding and start living.

Choose ONE THING to change this week. Is it eating breakfast? Is it walking 20 minutes after lunch every day? Is it playing with your kids each night before bed? Add value to your days and you’ll see more value in yourself. I promise.

So one questions remains. What are you waiting for?
