J. Lynne

Biography

J. Lynne was born in Central NY and completed her B.S. in Computer Science with a concentration in Computer Game Programming in 2012. Her passion for writing started as a young child in the fifth grade, where she and a friend wrote a short play about a haunted house with blinking lights located on top of the hill. The first line starts: Have you heard of the house with the blinking lights on top of the hill? Laughter ensued from the classroom as she and her friend read the play aloud.

Horror and dark themes hold a special place in her heart. She grew up reading Christopher Pike and, later in her early teens, Stephen King. Her first self-published short story "Everlasting Apple" is a young adult dark fantasy with a dash of suspense. She has many projects on the table right now: an adult-themed short story, a science fiction short story, and two novellas, one dabbling in the paranormal and the other in horror.

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
The first story that I recall writing was a short play with a friend in the fifth grade. We wanted to write something scary and came up with a haunted house with blinking lights, which scared the neighborhood kids. We never finished the play, but did read some of it for the classroom. It was fun and exciting to share!
What are you working on next?
My next book is titled 'Breathe' and is a supernatural thriller. Messages delivered through the dead will haunt your dreams! The cover has already been released on twitter. I'm very excited!

This was an amusing, quick read. I agree with a fellow reviewer that this reminded me of Alice in Wonderland with the strange, curious happenings.
