Meet Albert, the man who at 94-years-old probably puts most of us to shame.

Whether it’s cooking, cleaning, or DIY, the caring pensioner from Tameside never stops. And now the story of his endless good deeds has gone viral after his window cleaner posted his story on Facebook.

Adam Beard, 35, has been cleaning Albert Scholes’ windows for years and described his do-gooding customer as a “total gem”.

He explained how Albert is always hard at work, cooking a full Sunday lunch for him and his wife, who he also cares for, painting the fence outside, or taking his neighbours shopping.

Cleaner Adam said he was bowled over by his customer’s energy and his post about his Albert has had nearly 400,000 likes on Facebook.

Adam told the M.E.N.: “He’s always up to something or helping someone, he does all his own DIY, cooks, and before he goes to do his shopping he will go around the close and see if anyone needs anything!

“I think for me there are so many people out there who don’t do anything, they’ve got no get up and go and they you’ve got this amazing 95-year-old man up and doing something every day, keeping busy.

“If there were more people about like Albert then the world would be a better place.”

In just a few days, Adam’s post has been shared more than 53,000 times across the world and had 380,000 “likes” and over 22,000 comments – all praising Albert.

Albert who has been married to former school teacher Annie for 65 years, is also a keen bowler and bowls once a week in the Tameside league.

He has lived in the area all his life and served in the navy for 12 years during and after the war.
