Morse makes first appearance in arson case

A Canton woman facing charges of residential arson in a July 21 fire made her first appearance in court Wednesday morning.

Tiffany Morse, 26, was arrested Friday following a second interview concerning her involvement in a fire that took place at 456 S. Main St., Canton, around 6 a.m.

When fire personnel arrived, they found Morse standing outside the home. She said she had escaped when the fire started.

Residential arson is a Class 2 felony.

During Wednesday's hearing, Morse was assigned public defender Walter Barra.

Her next appearance is Aug. 5.
