On the 8th of March, 2015, on the call of the Awami Workers Party, thousands of women and men from across Pakistan came out to mark International Working Women's Day and call for genuine gender equality under the aegis of a socialist-feminist politics that recognizes and struggles against patriarchal, class and national oppression. The AWP Women's Day events included rallies, jalsas, music, theater and dance and marked the first time an avowedly socialist, feminist and anti-patriarchal politics was announced by a political party in Pakistan.
The AWP's struggle for a democratic socialist society that stands against all forms of exploitation continues across the country.
