Marion Cotillard is an Oscar-winning actress, style icon, singer and songwriter, and now the 39-year-old can add jewellery designer to her ever-growing list of accomplishments. The French beauty has designed a bracelet and necklace for luxury jewellery house Chopard, which she will unveil at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

A keen environmentalist, Marion was tasked with choosing designs using ethically sourced coloured gemstones. The jewellery she has created will incorporate dazzling opal stones from a family-owned mine in Australia. "You design while thinking of the people who work on extracting the stones, so it's a totally different energy," she told WWD. "Why should the creation of dreams and luxury turn into a nightmare for the people who are providing the raw material?" It's not the first time the Midnight in Paris star has worked with the brand to raise awareness about ethically sourced fashion. In 2013 she sported sparkling pieces from Chopard's Green Carpet Collection when she attended the Cannes Film Festival, as part of Eco Age founder Livia Firth's Green Carpet challenge.

The news of Marion's latest venture comes just a few days after her latest campaign for Dior has been unveiled. The mother-of-one is the epitome of elegance in the striking images shot by Peter Lindbergh, as she models the new Lady Dior collection. Posing with slightly dischevelled hair and smokey eye make-up, Marion looks effortlessly cool as she rocks a series of tailored and futuristic-esque creations by Dior's creative director Raf Simons. Marion has been the face of the brand since 2008, alongside a line-up of ambassadors including Jennifer Lawrence and Natalie Portman. Pop star Rihanna is the latest star to front a campaign for the iconic French fashion house, and is set to star in their Secret Gardens campaign which will be unveiled later this spring.
