The Starlight Therapeutic Riding Program (STRP), a 501c3 non-profit, has been providing therapeutic riding to children and adults with specials needs since 2003. Barbara Kenney, Director and Instructor, is a Special Education Teacher and a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor.

Why are we fundraising now? We need a second horse to continue providing services to our existing students and to extend our reach. When our horse, Charm, went lame last April the program had to shut down for 2 months while she recovered. The average cost per month per horse is $805 broken down as follows: $510 rent (board), $160 vet (vet, dentist, chiropractor, supplements, Rx) $50 farrier (shoes), $85 insurance. You will note there are no expenses for staff. We have no paid instructors, staff or administrators. Lesson fees cover only 50% of our annual $20,000 budget.
