Pamela Anderson joins Baywatch cast along with Priyanka Chopra and The Rock

Pamela Anderson has finally agreed to be a part of the big screen adaptation of 90s TV series Baywatch. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.

Actress-model Pamela Anderson has joined the star-studded cast of the big screen adaptation of Baywatch.

Dwayne Johnson announced the 48-year-old star's involvement in an Instagram post he shared on Thursday night, reported aceshowbiz.com.

Captioning a photograph of him posing with the Pamela, Johnson wrote, "She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time (sic)."

"A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our Baywatch cast. We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!" he continued, adding the hashtags "#PamAnderson", "#OS" and "#OriginalSmokestack (sic)".

The Baywatch movie is directed by Seth Gordon and will center on the leader of an elite group of lifeguards (Johnson) who is forced to team up with a young former Olympian (Zac Efron) in order to save the beloved bay.

Taking over the role of CJ Parker from Anderson is Kelly Rohrbach. Alexandra Daddario and Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra are other names set to star in the film that is scheduled to be released in US on May 19, 2017.
