Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Monday endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for president, calling the Republican White House hopeful a fearless politician.
“Marco Rubio really is an exciting candidate, and I’m pleased to be able to endorse him and to work for him for the presidency,” Issa said during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.”
{mosads}”He’s not afraid to engage on the hottest subjects and that’s important, because the next president is going to have to fix a lot of broken things, including our foreign policy,” Issa added.
The former chairman of the House Oversight Committee and richest member of Congress pointed to Rubio’s efforts for saving taxpayer money on ObamaCare.
Rubio has locked up a series of endorsements recently. Earlier this month, Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) endorsed Rubio, who trails only former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in winning lawmaker endorsements.
Both Bush and Rubio have been backed by three senators, while Bush has 26 House lawmaker endorsements compared to more than a dozen for Rubio.
