‘Followed by PM, blocked by Sushma Swaraj’: Twitterati want to know why the politician’s blocked History of India

Well, it seems this simple move has puzzled many which could actually be a technical glitch.

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj – who has time and again displayed a great sense of humour on Twitter – seems to have created a quite a buzz by blocking a popular sarcastic account “History of India”, or @RealHistoryPic, which exists with the tag line: “History happens twice because people don’t listen the first time | Sarcasm | Unreal | Unbiased | Equal Opportunity Offender”

Now, whom a user chooses to block or not should be their prerogative, but given that this handle is followed several people of note that includes Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Markandey Katju, Omar Abdullah, among others, it came as quite a surprise to many when @RealHistoryPic tweeted out a request to Swaraj, asking her to unblock them.

@RealHistoryPic posted a screenshot of the blocked image with the message: “Respected @SushmaSwaraj Ma’am please unblock us, we need to mention your work in History of India,” read the caption.

The parody account, which regularly posts pictures from India’s recent history with satirical, cheeky and witty comments has garnered a good following on Twitter with over 50,000 dedicated followers at the time of writing. So, sure enough, once the tweet went out, followers added their support to the unblocking plea, while others urged the @RealHistoryPic to simply ignore the block.

Well, it seems this simple move has puzzled many which could actually be a technical glitch, and we should probably ask ACP Pradyuman to solve the mystery!
