“The message is that if you do not cooperate, your family, wife and children will be here and you will be sent to the Andamans,” said Sisodia.

Continuing his attack against the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the second day in a row, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Tuesday accused them of trying to paralyse the Delhi government by transferring its senior officials.

“Even the chief secretary of Delhi was not consulted (about the transfers) and you are saying this is your right. You have not got this right through Hitlershahi and autocracy. You have been given rights under a democratic set-up. You have to remember that this is a democracy,” said Sisodia. He claimed that while there are 309 posts for DANICS officials in Delhi, the city government had just 165 officials.

“… You have decided to send them to the Andamans. There are only 24 posts there but you have posted 31 officials there. Is it your right to destroy the Delhi government…,” said Sisodia.

He alleged that the Centre was “threatening” government officials in order to dissuade them from working for AAP government. “The message is that if you do not cooperate, your family, wife and children will be here and you will be sent to the Andamans. The Centre is trying to send a message to officials: if you work for Arvind Kejriwal, either you will be put behind bars or transferred to remote areas,” said Sisodia.

Targeting Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, Sisodia said, “It is the Delhi government that relieves officers of their duties and decides their postings. Here, the Lt Governor is running a parallel government…”

Festive offer

On Rajendra Kumar, he said, “He has the image of an honest officer… he is an IITian. The Modi government does not want IIT-educated, brilliant and talented people to work for the country… All he wants is sycophancy. This is the environment that is being created by the Centre.”

Meanwhile, the CBI said in a statement, “CBI strongly denies a news item published today attributed to the Deputy CM, Delhi… This is a completely false, baseless and misleading statement and emphatically denied. It appears to be a part of a concerted attempt to malign India’s premier investigating agency.”
