So to accompany all the holiday feasting and family gatherings -- and to prepare you for Sunday's midseason finale -- we present the grossest moments to date on AMC's The Walking Dead. Scenes of guts and goop designed to put you off your pudding.
And when you're done reading, head down to the comments and let us know some of the moments you think are next-level gross (there are plenty, for sure).
Ugggh
Back in Season 4's "Live Bait," the Governor found himself trapped in a pit filled with fiendish, fiending walkers - with only his bare hands to use as weapons. So he pounded, ripped, and mashed them all to bits. Finally, as his coup de freakin' grâce, the Governor decided to DESTROY A WALKER'S FACE USING A BONE FROM ANOTHER WALKER!!!
Bleeehhhh
Back in the Season 4 premiere, "30 Days Without an Accident," Daryl and Michonne led a scavenger team into a supermarket/death trap, complete with a distended ceiling that was ready to burst and cave in.And if there's anything worse than a plummeting walker that goes splat...
...it's a walker that doesn't make it to the ground. BECAUSE HIS INTESTINES ARE ALL TANGLED UP WITH SOME WIRING!
*holds back vomit*
In the Season 3 premiere, "Seed," Rick and the rest cleared the yards and hallways of the prison, taking out walkers left and right - remnants of old guards and prisoners. At one point, Rick faced down an undead enemy wearing a gas mask, ripping it off so as to clear the way for a brain stab......AND THE FACE CAME OFF WITH THE MASK!!!
Okay...I think I'm alright now...
The only thing grosser than Carl's "I do what I want" devouring of an entire drum of chocolate pudding in Season 4's "After" was his inability to share. GIVE THE ZOMBIE SOME PUDDING, CARL!More Walking Dead gross outs on Page 2.
Ohmygod, hleeeeeeeeehhhh...
Not all that much was happening on the series when Season 2's "Cherokee Rose," rolled around. So to spice things up they threw in a bloated, water-logged walker stuck in a well. One that disgustingly tore in half at the waist when Shane, Andrea, Glenn, and Dale tried to hoist it out with a rope!It was a random scene that still sticks in our memory because how gross it was. Though perhaps not as vile as the fact that everyone seemed to be TOTALLY OKAY WITH DRINKING THAT WELL WATER ONCE THEY GOT THE OOZING, DISTENDED ZOMBIE OUT OF IT!!!
Guys, I need to lie down...
One thing's for sure: The Waking Dead didn't pull any punches during its first few episodes - with the mushy dismemberment scene in "Guts" still standing quite tall as one of the most heinous moments on the series. You know a scene is foul when the show's own characters are throwing up in the midst of it.But yeah, they dedicated a big chunk of the episode to the chopping up of this corpse and to the spreading and smearing of all his innards onto the bodies of Glenn and Rick. WHO THEN WORE HIS ENTRAILS AROUND THEIR NECKS LIKE PIMP CHAINS!!!
Room's..spinning...so cold...
In Season 5's "Crossed," Daryl found himself in a dire situation. His brawl with one of the Grady Memorial cops had placed him directly between two charred, gnashing walkers.Thinking fast, Daryl gouged out the rotter's eyeballs and then used that grip to rip its head from its torso...
...TAKING A SIZABLE PORTION OF ITS SPINE WITH IT!!!
Ugh, there's nothing quite like a bald-on-bald head bash. On the bright side, Daryl's still alive - and he now bowls a 280!
