Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been cast as the female lead in ABC pilot “Quantico.” The series revolves around FBI recruits who go through training at Quantico, Va. She will start alongside Jake McLaughlin.
Chopra plays an agent whose past resurfaces soon after she arrives at the training camp in the series penned and exec produced by Josh Safran.
Chopra, who would be the first Bollywood actress to star in a pilot at ABC, said: “As an actor I’m constantly challenging my creative capacity. I took a leap of faith when (ABC head of casting) Keli Lee asked me to join the ABC family, and I’m so excited to be a part of the pilot for ‘Quantico’ alongside an incredibly talented cast and production team.”
She will continue to work in Bollywood films.
“Quantico” is exec produced by Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper of Mark Gordon Co.
