ROCHESTER – With the success of its first National Rifle Association’s “Women On Target” program last year at the Sippican Rod & Gun Club, organizers of the gun basics class will offer the one-day workshop again Saturday, Sept. 19. The clinic starts at 8:30 a.m. and finishes at 5 p.m.

“We are now starting to take registrations for this year’s clinic,” NRA Certified Instructor Bill Fredericks, of Mattapoisett, said. “If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this information on to them. Last year we filled the class in about two weeks.”

Morning snacks will be provided, instruction, training manual, goodies bag, lunch, use of firearms and ammunition. The clinic will happen in rain or shine. The course qualifies participants to apply for the Massachusetts License To Carry (LTC), or Firearms Identification Card (FID).

The cost is $60 per woman. Make checks out to: Sippican Rod & Gun Club. The checks should then be mailed to: Bill Fredericks, 30 Holly Woods Road, Mattapoisett, MA 02739. Ladies can register by contacting Fredericks at 508-317-0203, or by email at airborne1715@gmail.com. After Sept.5, the registration fee will be non-refundable.

Sippican Rod & Gun Club is located at the end of Dexter Lane in Rochester.
