Entergy: Thousands without power as severe weather sweeps through southeast Louisiana
As severe weather pushed through southeast Louisiana early Tuesday morning, Entergy is reporting thousands of customers without power in its service area.According to Entergy's website, more than 32,000 customers in total were without power. The bulk of the outages were reported in Orleans, St. Bernard, Jefferson and East Baton Rouge parishes.Orleans suffered the biggest outage reported by the power company with more than 10,000 customers without power as of 7 a.m."Due to the thunderstorms along with the high winds that have and continue to move through the area we are experiencing numerous outages," Entergy said in a service note on its outage section of its website. "Entergy personnel are working to restore service as quickly as safely possible.
