Allison Zimmer, Joshua Occhiogrosso-Schwartz

Allison Leigh Zimmer, the daughter of Jill R. Zimmer and Richard A. Zimmer of South Orange, N.J., was married Saturday evening to Joshua Paul Occhiogrosso-Schwartz, the son of Regina Occhiogrosso and David Schwartz of Walnut Creek, Calif. Rabbi Daniel Cohen performed the ceremony at Laurita Winery in New Egypt, N.J.

The bride, 26, is keeping her name. Until last month, she was the director of development and research at Collegiate Academies in New Orleans, a charter management organization that runs three high schools. This month she will begin studying for a law degree at New York University. She graduated magna cum laude from Brown.

The bride’s father owns Sun Control Tinting Inc., a window tinting company in Maplewood, N.J. Her mother teaches gifted and talented classes at the elementary-school level at Central School in Warren, N.J.

The groom, 28, is a lawyer with the criminal defense practice at the Bronx Defenders, a nonprofit organization that provides free legal representation in the Bronx. He graduated with high distinction from the University of California at Berkeley. He received his law degree cum laude from New York University.

His mother teaches second grade at Glorietta Elementary School in Orinda, Calif. His father is a senior software engineer at AXA Rosenberg, an investment management firm in Orinda, where he develops financial software systems.
