Bill Nye mean tweets video dismisses global warming haters

Bill Nye has accumulated his fair share of haters, whether that’s global warming de-Nye-rs or just pro-Amber Riley fans of Dancing with the Stars. So he was probably prepared for the worst when he participated in his own version of “Mean Tweets.” Fun science fact of the day: he easily shut down those Internet trolls.

Highlights include Nye fumbling over the pronunciation of “TFIOS” (a.k.a.The Fault In Our Stars), getting mildly excited about paint drying, and being disturbed by the misuse of a certain naughty word. Even then he gives the tweeter the benefit of the doubt, citing a hastily composed response. “I’m sorry you’re cluttering up the Internet,” he told another such user.

This version of “Mean Tweets” is not something Jimmy Kimmel forced Nye to do on his talk show, as he’s done with the likes of LeBron James, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Ethan Hawke. Nye starred in this video to promote The Bill Nye Film, a feature documentary Kickstarted by two filmmaker fans of “The Science Guy.” Their goal is to make a documentary about the man who’s been leading the charge against and raising awareness of global warming.
