Dorset and Isle of Wight Community Dental Services to be Taken Over

Sample News Big

NHS England has confirmed that community dental services in Dorset and the Isle of Wight will be run by Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust from the 1st April.

The move comes following a tendering process overseen by NHS England. Although there will be a change in the management of the services, the location of clinics and staff roles will remain the same and there should be no interruptions for patients who use the community dental services in these areas. Members of staff who were previously involved with the services will now transfer to Somerset Partnership.

Director of human resources at the trust, Andre Frullo, said that everyone is “delighted” with the news that Somerset will take over community dental services in Dorset and the Isle of Wight. The trust already handles dental care services in the South West and the management team is looking forward to welcoming new members of staff and continuing to provide high standards of service to dental patients.

The trust is working with the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Dorset Healthcare University Foundation Trust and Dorset County Hospital to ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible for employees and patients.
