Codie Gill: Changes to Office 365 plans will make it easier to sell and upsell

icrosoft has made changes to the subscription options available on Office 365 that will make it much easier for customers to adopt the service

and provide partners with much improved up-sell opportunities.

Te new Office 365 Business Essentials and Business Premium plans replace the previous Small Business and Small Business Premium options. Tere is also a new plan called Office 365 Business that provides the core Office applications small firms use every day. Te number of users that can be supported under these SMB plans has been raised to 300 per plan.

Crucially, customers can now mix and match these plans and Enterprise plans too, making it much easier and cost- effective for them to add Office 365 to other standalone plans, such as Exchange Online. Te changes will make

Tis means that customers who want to adopt Microsoft Office 365 can get all the benefits of Open

Licensing agreement. Tis makes life easier for them and easier for you – and in response, we have brought our Annuity and Cloud teams together within Tech Data to provide seamless support for you across the whole Open programme.

life easier for customers and for resellers, says Codie Gill, Senior Office 365 Specialist at Tech Data.

‘Te new mix and match options make Office 365 much more attractive for many customers who did not want to move up to the Enterprise plans and that will give resellers the opportunity to revisit customers who fell into that camp and delayed any decision to upgrade. Te changes as a whole will make it easier to persuade users to move from Office 2010 or earlier editions, onto Office 365.’

Another important change is that you can now manage all Business and Enterprise plans through the same admin portal, with the same capabilities, which makes it much easier to look after customers and administer their plans, whatever options they have taken. Customers who are already on an existing plan need to do nothing until October 2015, when they will need to switch to one of the new plans.

In the meantime, Tech Data’s specialist Microsoft team is available to provide advice and assistance on all the changes, so if you do have questions, please get in touch with the team or Codie Gill directly – email codie.gill@techdata.co.uk or software@techdata.co.uk – or call 01256 864 114
